Amy & Brian - Patrick Henry Ballroom Wedding - Roanoke, Va

How they met - Amy and Brian were out with friends in downtown Roanoke and met at Lucky's. They were in a big group and were introduced but they didn't actually have their first date until months later,  when Brian asked Amy for coffee, on St. Patrick's Day weekend.
Their first official date was at Local Roots.

How he proposed – Amy and Brian LOVE Charleston, SC, so Brian proposed on the water not far from the pineapple water fountain after dinner one year before their wedding day. As luck would have it and they were looking for wedding dates,  the only one of four dates that would work for family and friends was April 14, 2018, the same date he proposed exactly one year before.

Every little detail on their wedding day had a significant meaning.

The story behind their cocktail drinks:  The bartenders, who were working at Lucky's when they fist met, mixed up their first cocktails and later on opened up their new business as traveling bartenders,  "One for the Road".  Amy & Brian's was their first wedding. They first met at Lucky's and their favorite drink was "The Cube". Their first official date was at Local Roots, where their favorite dink was "The Ginger". So they created the drink "Something borrowed" that was the perfect combination of those two drinks. "Bramble Lane" is the address of their first home. The pineapple on the drink represents Charleston.

The 40 was Brian's swimming number and the cufflinks were Amy's first gift to him made out of railroad material in memory of his grandfather, who worked for Norfolk Southern for many years! He passed during the first year they were dating. The groomsmen's ties were mix-matched and chosen to wear again based on their college undergraduate schools.

Unfortunately Amy's dad had passed. but Amy found so many different ways to remember him on her wedding day! The purple ring on Amy's right hand was the first Christmas present her dad gave to her mom. And the heart sewn inside of her dress was cut out of one his shirts with the logo of his tiling business, now owned by her brother. And the shades of peach and orange were his favorite colors.

Now that you know some of the history of their lives together, enjoy the story of their day though these images!
