How they met: Brooklyn & Bryan met at Radford College through a mutual friend and actually didn’t like each other when they first met. They hung out together a few times, then went separate ways for about a year, until he decided to contact her again which ignited communication between the two for a few months.
How he proposed: Bryan and Brooklyn have a tradition of going downtown each year at Christmas to look at the Christmas trees at the hotel Roanoke. Christmas of 2016 was just like the rest (or so she thought), they were going out for a date night and Bryan made reservations at Blue 5 downtown. After that they walked to the hotel. They walked all through the inside looking at all the trees and their last stop was the big tree outside the hotel in the front. As their friends were taking a picture of them in front of the tree Bryan got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! Best Christmas present ever that year!
Fun facts about their details:
Colors- Blush pink and navy blue.
Peonies were always her first choice in flowers and she was scared that the closer she was getting to the date, the harder it was for them to be in season. But her florist, Blooms by Doyle’s made sure to special order them just for her bouquet, which was created in different shades of pink and greenery.
Their wedding cake was a vanilla almond flavor because Bryan’s favorite cake is vanilla. The icing was a traditional sweet buttercream dripped in blue fondant to tie in with their colors, For cupcakes they tied in Brooklyn’s favorite cake, red velvet with a traditional butter cream icing as well. Then they had other flavors they both liked from their tasting for cupcakes such as a chocolate with peanut butter frosting, and a strawberry cake with strawberry icing. So much delicious yumminess!
His favorite moment from the wedding: Their entrance into reception together, being announced as Mr. & Mrs. Dillon for the first time surrounded by all their family and friends.
Her favorite moment from the wedding: “Walking down the aisle to my groom. It seemed like in that moment time stood still and everything was perfect.”
Funny story about Brooklyn & Bryan: “We didn’t like each other at first!!! I feel like many people don’t know or wouldn’t have guessed that because now we seem very compatible lol. We have grown together so much along the way!”
