Alexa & Jason - Doe Creek Farm - Pembroke, VA
I've seen some incredible weddings but this one was simply magical.Alexa & Jason met through mutual friends while attending Virginia Tech. They had a large, tight-knit group of friends during undergrad. They all spent time playing board games and having Harry Potter movie marathons. During Christmas break of their freshman year, the group planned a trip to Harry Potter World in Orlando, FL where these two bonded. By the time school started back up the next semester, they were dating.
Well, fast forward five years and Alexa & Jason planned another trip to Harry Potter World. This time, however, it was just the two of them. Alexa was thinking this would just be an ordinary vacation but Jason had other plans in mind. After a full day of fun at the park, Jason got down on one knee and proposed in front of the Hogwarts Castle. It will definitely be a memorable day for them.
Their wedding and reception were both equally beautiful. Alexa's mom's best friend from high school drove all the way from Illinois to be the officiant. They wrote their own vows which were very sentimental. They placed the notecards which their vows written on into the wine box from the ceremony. On their anniversary, they will be able to open the box and reminisce while enjoying the bottle.
Alexa & Jason chose coral and grey as their key colors. The centerpieces at each table were hand-crafted wooden boxes with gorgeous arrangements in them. They also included a lot of personal touches with their decorations including each table having images of the couple from the same age as the table number. Such a cute idea.
They chose to do a variety of cupcakes including lemon, red velvet, and vanilla and shared their first dance to "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran (covered by Tyler Ward and Lisa Cimorelli). It was the perfect song for these two!
I asked Alexa & Jason what their favorite moments from the day were. I absolutely loved their answers. Alexa said her favorite moment was the first look. She was nervous the entire morning while getting ready. However, the moment Jason turned around and saw her, her nerves went away as she thought about how she was soon marrying her best friend. Jason's favorite moment was watching Alexa walk down the aisle. He also loved when Alexa and her family broke out into an elaborate, choreographed dance halfway through the father-daughter dance.
Congrats Alexa & Jason! I wish you two many years of love and excitement!
